Railway Innovation: Modernizing Transportation

In the streets of Milan, outside his window, an older man watched a railway maintenance project going on seemingly forever. With frequent delays due to weather and other obstacles the project was stop and start for months on end. Finally fed up, he brought an engineer friend by to take a look at the problem and offer a solution. Thus was born the 4S fastener system. A real solution to a real problem, but offering far more than imagined.

The 4S is an extremely strong and durable mechanical fastening system that secures extraordinarily high weights in very difficult and heavily used areas. It is cost-effective, easy to use, environmentally friendly - with no need to replace crossties, the life of a crosstie is extended instead of discarded, it is re-used, not discarded. The trains don't need to stop in order to install the 4S, so no income is lost. Maintenance requirements are reduced, thus labor costs as well. Weights trains can carry are increased, so productivity is increased. Track systems are more secure, so safety is improved.

We are taking an inventor's innovative railway design to patent, license, and manufacture in the US for eventual worldwide distribution. Italian innovation, US production.
